Sexhibition Weekend!

Aloha my cherry pies, so last weekend I attended Sexhibition which was held at Manchester's event city, and what an event it was! I had the most amazing experience so I thought it was about time to share with all you lovely people what I got up to along with some pictures from the event.

So me and my beautiful friend Blaire over at Old is Now arrived at the event on the Saturday afternoon and decided firstly to check out the stalls because who doesn't love shopping right? The stalls had an amazing range of products from all things latex to pin up portraits. I particularly loved a stall called Kiku that sold beautiful lingerie from What Katie Did and Playful Promises, and in true Coco fashion I ended up spending a pretty penny. I was also happy to learn that she owns a shop in Manchester's Northern Quarter so I know where I shall be taking a trip to on my next day off!

After shopping we also check out the main stage which had some fantastic fashion shows being held. The latex show by Lady Alluras Latex was amazing. I especially loved all her designs because she made the latex look like clothing you could wear out and about and when I chatted to her later on she explained she designs the clothes especially like that as she is from a fashion background which is loved. One of my favourite dresses she made incorporated lace into which was genius. The fashion show was particularly amazing to me as I got to see up close the beautiful Masuimi Max who has been an idol of mine for quite some time, and boy did she live up to her pictures.

While wandering round we also happened to see the wonderfully talented Sukki Singapora, I love this lady so much as not only is she a super talented a burlesque dancer she also made Burlesque legal in Singapore which I think is an amazing feat and I definitely look up to her as a role model. She was such a lovely person and we couldn't leave without asking for a fan girl picture haha. I also got to meet some of the gorgeous girls from the Pinup academy such as Lola Diamond and Frenchie Lamour, it was an absolute pleasure to meet them and not only were the super gorgeous they were also really lovely ladies.

After shopping and socialising we headed back to the hotel to change so that we could attend the after dark night party. This was an amazing show which was full of burlesque, drag queens and much much more. The show ended with Sukki Singapora doing her Diamond Routine where she performed on a giant diamond ring, I loved the show and it was such a privileged to be able to see it. After that it was time for bed at the hotel after sipping one to many wines haha. All in all I had the best time and I for one can not wait till next year!

Review - Collectif Clothing Tropical Gal

Aloha my cherry pies, so like pretty much every other vintage gal I also went crazy when Collectif held their 50% sale and I just couldn't resist snagging a few pieces. I picked up this gorgeous Pineapple print dress which I have been lusting over since they showed us a sneak peak at their Spring/Summer look book a few months ago. So when it arrived I obviously couldn't resist posing for a few pictures.

I'm super in love with the print as everyone knows that I'm absolutely gaga for pineapples so this dress felt as if it was made for me. I sometimes have problems with Collectif clothing sizing but this fit like a glove! The bust area is super flattering and being a vintage gal I adore a good circle skirt. I love Collectif clothing as the material is really good quality and this dress was no exception. I decided to pair it with this super cute toucan cardigan I got from Collectif a while ago as you can't go wrong with a tropical theme in my opinion.

Most Marvellous Vintage Mass Meet Up

Aloha my cherry pies, so I've had a wonderful weekend as I went to an amazing vintage meet up. I've been to a few of these meet ups now which are organised on an amazing Facebook page (1940s/1950s Most Marvellous Meet Ups) and they never fail to disappoint. I love meeting like minded people and coming home knowing I've made some amazing new friends.

My weekend started by getting up pretty early Saturday morning to make the 3 hour train journey down to Peterborough, but it was super worth it as as soon as I got there everyone was so friendly and welcoming and we had a great afternoon eating picnic food from adorable wicker baskets and drinking one too many beverages. Thankfully the sun was shining so it was great to lounge about on picnic blankets soaking up the sun and to whittle away the day talking about everything vintage.

As it was gorgeous sunny day the night was warm too so we headed back to the camp site where a few people were staying and spent the night chatting and toasting marshmallows. It was the perfect night and really reminded me how much I love camping, so another camping trip is definitely in store.

To round the weekend off on the Sunday we made a trip down the road to a super cute railway station where you can take a trip on a steam engine. It was the perfect way to round off a vintage weekend and I loved every minute of it.

Sadly it was then time for me to head home back to Manchester, but I had a fantastic weekend and I cant wait to meet everyone again. If you can get yourself to one of the meet ups you should definitely go as you wont regret it.

Cocos Vintage days out - Lincoln

Aloha my cherry pies, so last week I had the pleasure of taking a trip to Lincoln with my good friend Katy. Lincoln is an absolutely beautiful city with an amazing cathedral and castle. The streets are full of little tea rooms and vintage shops so it was the perfect place for me. So I thought I'd share with you all a few photos from the day.

The first place we went was a little tea room where we were served tea and plumbread which was simply delicious. We then had a wander round the cathedral which is absolutely stunning and really does take your breathe away. We had a quick look at the historic castle which I loved as I'm a huge history buff but didn't go in as it was pretty pricey. After that it was on to my favourite part......shopping! There was so many lovely little shops around but my favourite place was a vintage charity shop where I picked up some really amazing items at super cheap prices!

I truly loved Lincoln as the city itself is so pretty and I love the vintage feel the whole place has with cute bunting running from one shop to the other. If you ever get the chance to visit this historic city I definitely recommend it travelling there.

Wake Up Little Susie

Aloha my cherry pies, so I recently came across this amazing store called Wake Up Little Susie ran by the lovely Susie Pritchard. As soon as I saw these vintage night gowns I knew I had to have one, as they are simply beautiful. Susie has an amazing range to select from and as soon as I saw the peach one it was love at first sight.

The condition of it is perfect and I knew I'd have to have a play around and take some pictures in it for you guys. I adore the frill details around the base of the gown and in the cup area as it gives that special little touch. The fit is lovely and its super comfy to wear as well as making you feel pretty darn alluring.

I think the gowns are priced very fairly for the quality you get and I was super impressed by the speed of delivery.  If you are as obsessed by vintage nightwear as me I definitely recommend giving her store a look and adding one of these beautiful items to your very own collection.

You'd be so nice to come home to fundraiser

Aloha my cherry pies, so I'm all about helping out a fellow vintage loving gal and Harriet who is such a sweetheart is trying to get some money and help together to fund her dream of filming her own vintage inspired film. I have left it mostly up to Harriet to put in her own words below but it would be lovely if people could help out in any way they could!

Thanks Guys and Dolls x

"My name is Harriet and I am 17 years old . I love vintage and creative writing. I feel that writing something with a vintage plotline would be a dream.

I have been approached by a friend who suggested that if I could write a script under 30 pages, he would produce it and film it. I jumped at the opportunity as it’s an absolute dream come true!

I have written a script called “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To”. The film is set in the Yorkshire dales in 1941.

I am looking for support from people who have connections in the “vintage industry”. I have the script and cast, but no costumes. To produce a quality historically accurate piece, I need to get the funds for costume, hair and make up.

Are you able to help? Do you have connections to provide the costumes for a credit in the production? Are you a vintage inspired hair and makeup artist looking for something extra to add to your CV? Or would you like to donate to her fundraising page? The link to Harriet’s fundraising page is here – gofund.me/z8zwwj8

Marvellous Meet Ups - Le Keux Vintage Salon and The Wet Spot Leeds

Aloha my cherry pies, so first of all I thought I'd talk about a really amazing group on Facebook called 1940s/1950s Most Marvellous Meet Ups. I first stumbled upon this group a couple of months ago and it's the best thing ever! It's an group where regular meet ups are arranged so that other vintage loving guys and dolls can meet up, I've been to a few meet ups now and I've meet some really wonderful people, so I can not recommend it enough.

So on Friday I went to a fantastic meet up with two lovely vintage loving gals. We first meet up in Leeds and went to a hotel we had booked to drop off all our bags. We then ventured into Leeds city centre where we grabbed some sushi from Yo Sushi, I just have to say here that I got an amazing dessert from there where the sauce for the ice cream came in a syringe which I thought was a super cool touch.

So after food we went to do a vintage hair class at Le Keux vintage salon, the class was being taught be the amazingly beautiful and talented Diablo Rose who is not only an amazing hair stylist but she is also an amazing pin up model and one of my heroes for modern pin up girls. The class was fantastic and I got some great tips for vintage hair styling which I immediately tried as soon as I got home. The class was held in the Le Keux salon and if you've not been before been I definitely recommend it, its a retro dream as its decked out with vintage hair dryers and tools and has a wonderful pink Cadillac couch which I super want to steal haha. They also do photoshoots there and I'm definitely booking one in the future.

So after the class it was back to the hotel to get changed to do see The Wet Spot Burlesque show, and this gave me the chance to wear my gorgeous Monica dress by Pin Up Girl Clothing. The show was held at the Belgrave music hall which was a really great setting. As soon as you walked in you were greeted by classic music and a bar that was serving great cocktails. The show was fantastic and had some really great acts. For me Sophia St Villier stole the show as she was absolutely stunning and very talented at Burlesque, and I practically liked the poor guy she grabbed from the audience, when she stripped while dressed a latex horse his face was a mixture of terrified and happiness haha. I also loved Kitty Ribbons as one of her acts included her being dressed as Jewellery box ballerina and as she turn on the rotating platform she stripped, which I thought was a genius idea for Burlesque. The whole show was great and fingers crossed I get to see some more in future.

All in all it was the perfect way to spend a Friday and I loved every minute. Thanks for reading Guys and Dolls x

Hms Vintage Phootshoot

Aloha my Cherry pies, so back in June I had a photo shoot with an amazing company called Hms Vintage where Cherry Dollface styled my hair and did my makeup. It was a magical day and I thought I'd share with you the photos I received back.

I absolutely adore these photos, the people are Hms Vintage as so amazingly friendly and I love getting photos done there. It just made it even more special that Cherry styled my hair which I was super in love with. I also got to wear my beautiful Pin Up Girl Clothing castle print dress which is definitely one of my favourites and it looked great with the backdrop.

Hope you enjoy Guys and Dolls x
